Fluidforms writes:

The Cassius Punching Bag contains a matrix of 9×7 force sensors that measure the force exerted by a blow to the punching bag. The sensors are plugged into an Arduino board that sends the values over USB to a computer using the MIDI protocol. The computer is running a Processing sketch that receives the MIDI packets and writes the current state of the sensors to a folder in a “|” separated format. An OpenGL render then reads these text files and graphically represents the current state of the punches to the bag since the last reset.

I’ve always been fascinated by the punching bag games at the Jersey shore amusemant parks on the boardwalk and at Coney Island. When I was a little kid many years ago I used to watch the bigger guys try to get the better score than the “other” guy. Do you know where I can purchase a sensor “off the shelf” like the ones used on the cassius bag? I would love to make one of these punching bags but would like to cut down on the time involved and some of the more technical stuff. Any info would be greatly appreciated……..Thanks…………Ronnie

Hi, the link to the schematics and code seems to be broken. Is there another way to get to the schematics and code info? I’m very interested in trying to make this for the dojo I train in but need some help getting started. Thanks!
