Blogger Dump Tank

I like the idea of an old-fashioned dunk tank, but learned that these can be quite dangerious. So I was looking for an alternative that was safe, easy to use, and lots of fun.

The contraption is quite simple. A small plastic waste basket hangs from a basketball hoop. Inside the wastebasket is a toilet fixture. Attached to the handle is a long extension rod, with a weight at the end. The weight (I use a bottle of water) sits on a platform of a target. When a person throws a ball and hits the target, it cause the weight to fall off and "flush" the tank. A colander is attached to the bottom of the tank to create a gentle wash. A lucky person sits under the tank and then gets all wet.

If you're lucky, the lucky person will be a Bay Area blogger.
