The Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP) is a private-public partnership with three main goals: 1) to collect weather data contributed by citizens; 2) to make these data available for weather services and homeland security; and 3) to provide feedback to the data contributors so that they have the tools to check and improve their data quality. Russ will talk about CWOP as a public-private partnership and how the weather data from over 3000 private weather stations gets to the National Weather Service and other users. He'll show how anyone with a weather station can join CWOP and get their quality feedback information, and how that feedback information can be used to improve the quality of your weather data.Related site: http://www.wxqa.com/
