NotBAGO Maker meeting, Ann Arbor

Dale from the NotBAGO Maker meeting writes in -

Hello Phillip, We're having our 4th meeting of NotBAGO, a meeting for Makers in the Ann Arbor area, on November 13. Details below.

Ann Arbor (MI) fans of Make Magazine, Circuit Cellar, Digital Machinist, Kevin Kelly's Cool Tools, and other similar interests are cordially invited to the fourth NotBAGO meeting, Tuesday November 13 at 8pm in the common house at Great Oak Cohousing.

We're interested in making things using technology--whether that's a metal-cutting lathe or a Python script. We have machinists, electrical engineers, software folks, industrial control folks, and so on. We share projects, information about tools and ideas, and connect with like-minded people.

After introductions, we have 5 minute presentations by anyone who wants to talk. We have wi-fi, video projector (VGA or video input), Mac laptop, extension cords, and copier. During the informal chatting time, we'll have a 25 watt CO2 laser engraver available at this meeting. Expect a report on the Maker Faire!

Past presentations have included such diverse topics as:
--instrumenting a power-generating dam
--web based data logging for a solar hot water heater
--open source mathematics and plotting software
--non-powered, fast screwdrivers (both old and new)
--industrial color sensing
--lost-foam aluminum casting
--casting flowers in bronze

Directions: Great Oak Cohousing is located on the west side of Ann Arbor off of Jackson between Zeeb and Wagner. Park along Little Lake Drive, please, not in the parking lot.
