Am I the only one who has no access to Maker Faire and have been so bored with this blog lately that I’m considering unsubscribing?
“no access?” tons of tons of people who weren’t there are asking for photos and videos.
our entire team, hundreds of makers and tens of thousands of attendees all worked hard and had a lot of fun – i don’t think a week or so of celebrating this is so bad.
I make no judgement about your group as I don’t know a thing about it. I am happy that your event was successful and fun. If I were in some way attached I am sure I could enjoy the photos and videos you mention. I’ll say it this way: I enjoy MAKE for things other than your Maker Faire, lots of things, that I think seem to take a back seat to your promotion and coverage of the Faire for a lot longer than a week. I wish to point that out, that’s all — no offense meant.
it’s not possible to enjoy photos and videos without being at maker faire? how the heck to people enjoy watching sports on tv, photos on flickr, or videos on youtube :)

You’ll have to excuse us all, it’s just that we get so giddy and excited about an event that is tailored to us like nothing else in the world. We just want to share it with the rest of the world, and this is sort of the place to do it.
So there’s the hype, the event, and the afterglow, and like all glowing things the energy will eventually be dissipated, and everything will return to “normal” around here. At least until Maker Faire Austin.
Just give us a little more time, that’s all we ask. We’re just the proud parents who won’t shut up about our beautiful babies.

As blasphemous as it may seem to you, there is at least one person in this world who is not interested in Maker Faire, its photos, videos, and its coverage. That person is me and you just have to live with that. I enjoy MAKE for my own reasons. That is a complement to you.

I am sincerely happy to hear that you all are so thrilled at the success of your project. I can relate to all of the feelings you describe and it is heartening and validates that life is so sweet. Thanks for affirming that I simply have a different point of view, and explaining yours so I can appreciate it as well.
