    I thought the same thing but if you read the microscopic print the “candles” are actually paper, not that flaming paper is actually any better but they refer to shiny paper which might actually be foil or something like that which wouldn’t be flammable.

    Yeah, but it’ll be OK once they see what it’s being used for. Paper cylinders with fuses? Who would have a problem with that?!?! Oh. Good point.

    While I was reading it, I was thinking of the mechanism working just by the string (wick) burning up and releasing some potential energy from a spring… probably a bit safer than saltpeter, no?
