Egg Slam at Ignite Seattle.

385841037 480E6D3797

Tomorrow night, February 12, Make: and Radar join forces for Ignite Seattle! Get your supplies ready and come on down and test your egg shielding contraption. Can you devise a way to protect an egg from breaking after it's shot out of a giant slingshot against a wall? Pictured above is the slingshot being made by Divide and Rusty.

There isn't a tall enough spot in the space to drop eggs from so now your egg contraption will get shot out of the egg canon and get slammed against a wall! Any contraption up to 18"x18"x18", will fit into the canon, but if you keep it under 1 foot squared it will fit in the basket better. If everyone's survive, another challenge will be presented until it's narrowed down to the sturdiest contraptions. Winners will get a Make: or Craft: tshirt!

After the Egg Slam, there is a great lineup of speakers for "Ask Later" talks. We've gathered 21 innovators to give 5 minute powerpoint presentations on projects, experiments, entrepreneurship and other actionable topics.

This event is free and fun! Come on down, have a drink, chat with the movers, shakers, and makers in Seattle! - Link

  • Why don't they just build a trebuchet? That seems to be the rage lately.
