Volume 8 of MAKE features pinball machine restoration in its Toys and Games section. In this Maker File, we visit the Lucky Ju Ju Pinball Arcadium in Alameda, California. Michael Schiess is the proprietor of Lucky Ju Ju, and a group of us went there to check out the place and take some photograph of pinball machines. Michael gave us a tour of some of his favorite pinball machines, starting with Fireball and then Lady Luck, and as we walk through the place we learn a bit about the history of pinball machines and what makes a good machine.

This was a great show if not just for the atmospheric sound effects of some crazy dude in his pinball museum. As an artist I was interested to hear about that Dave Christensen backglass artist guy. I was able to find a limited amount of info on him through the google, which was pretty cool even so.

    Thanks Make!

I found this podcast a bit annoying.

Most of the problems I have are with the audio.

I could not hear the Maker during the interview portion of the podcasts.
I also did not feel very rewarded listing to somebody play a pinball game. Maybe a video would have been more educational, entertaining, or just plain more something.

    Shorter would be better too.
