  • And don't forget. Airport security likes to pry such tools out of your (hopefully) still warm hands.

  • phillip, would it be possible to post a picture of it against something like a quarter for a size comparison?

Posted by: n3rrd on November 25, 2006 at 9:44 PM

  • sure, will do - check the make flickr group

Posted by: philliptorrone on November 25, 2006 at 10:41 PM

  • Hey N3rrd: 12 gauge wire is 0.08080810 inches diameter. Use that to figure out the scale in the image and then calculate the length. :-)

  • lol, I have a chart of wire gauge diameters, but I'm a visual learner? Well, either that, or I'm really lazy.

Regardless, I gave him a chance to post a picture of the Makers Manifesto.

  • I've had my "Radioshack" version for a few years now. LOVE it. So if MAKE sells out, check out theirs (same price, but no extras).

And yes, I'm order a few of the MAKE ones as gifts. And a spare for me!

  • Looking for the size? I left mine at the office, but from memory, (and a nearby ruler, I'd say it measures... 2" long folded up. Oh, and the RadioShack URL for their version is:

    http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104745&cp

Messed up the URL link the first time.

Posted by: hockeyrink on November 26, 2006 at 10:19 PM

  • I'm at the office now. It measures 2.25" long, 0.5" thick, and 13/16" wide.

It's Monday, and I'm already making the order-takers at MAKE grumpy with my calls to order some... (they're not available yet).

  • Ok maybe I am blind but couldn't find this at the Make store.

Posted by: Chiefted on November 27, 2006 at 9:41 PM

  • Yeah I know what you mean. I must have checked this site about 50 times today. Can't wait to get one of these.
