Beer goggles - eye glasses made from beer bottles

MAKE pal Scott from Urban Spectacles of Wood sent us word of his latest eyeglass creation, beer goggles - "These specs are hand carved from two bottles of your favorite beer, or any other bottle for that matter. And they also come with a legal disclaimer, because I'm sure there is somebody out there who would purposely buy a pair only to take a hammer to them, causing a shard of glass to be lodged in their eye and then come back to me with a law suit. I suppose glass in the area of the eyes isn't that smartest idea, but that wont really stop me from wearing these goggles around town. They are quite the show stoppers." - Link.

  • You actually wear these? Who are you, Elton John?

  • I think they look totally cool. If I did not have to wear glasses in order to see, I'd totally be getting these and wear them around. And no, I'm not Elton John.

They kind of remind me of those Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Johnny Depp glasses...

  • do they make girls look prettier?

  • MR, yes, i wear them, they are fun as all hell.

tms, i can put prescription lenses in them, come on and venture away from the typical eyewear garbage out there.

sonic, come on, quit it with the typical associations with "beer goggles". dont these sculptural frames make you think outside of that paradigm. regardless, they dont make girls look prettier, but they make me look gorgeous, so the girls say.

    good night then,
    and have fun.

  • Love it, even if the idea of glass near my eyes makes me squirm. Reminds me a bit about the cardboard glasses I made as a kid, with transparent candy wrappers as 'glass'. Made cool sun glasses. Disclaimer: they are not UV safe. Anything but National Health frames, shudder.
