This reminds me of the people who owned the now-defunct Casa De Maria restaurant in Montecito. They had a relative who did something just like this except the whole thing was elaborate decorative ironwork, painted white. They parked it outside on Coast Village Road everyday, wish I could find a picture. Anyone have one?
