High(er) Rez screen swap on a Powerbook

Attachment-2
This clever Maker swapped out the LCD screen in a 15″ Powerbook with a higher resolution (1920 x 1200 display) – it should work in a new Macbook pro, and doesn’t require soldering, just assembly. Interesting, you’d get the same resolution as a 23″ Cinema display… [via] – Link.

could be, we’ll know soon for sure!

seems feasable to me, it’s the same screen I have on my Sager laptop. I wouldn’t be supised if the graphics chip in the mac is some off the shelf one that can support many different panels.

I just got my hands on a MacBook pro 15″. I want to do this swap as soon as possible. Can anyone help me with what LCDs would work in a MacBook pro 15″?

    Thanks,
    Kyle
