I got a cell phone tripod w/ gripper clamp for $0.99 on ebay. You could take the clamp off the top, grab a standard threaded bar, thread clamp onto bar, add angle to fit application with a bench vice and a wrench (if necessary) and stick the thing in a cup.
Cool part is, I can save the tripod to use with my digital camera. Two builds for the price of one!
