    Easy, look into gas absorption refrigerators.

    A quick search in your favorite engine for the term “Icyball” should yield an interesting version of gas absorption refrigeration. They aren’t continual cycle designs since they need to be “charged” by heating, and then they follow up by cooling, but they are a closed system and can be made very durable.

    I would avoid ammonia and look to use lithium bromide, which is the more commonly used, and substantially less risky form used in commercial products.

    These things are pretty cool, even just for backyard parties as it crushes ice much better than any regular blender. Companies like Daiquiri Whacker sell these if you don’t want to mod a small engine yourself, but then…why would you be here!
