3 degrees of freedom positioner for soldering / gluing small parts

Leevonk has a clever add-on for a "3rd hand" - "An easy way to make your 'helping hands' thing 100x more useful for soldering, gluing, and many other things. I'm a little embarassed posting this cause it's so simple, but people seem to be surprised when I show them this." - Link.

Sorry to nitpick. But doesn't this creation have more than three degrees of freedom? Each hand has several joints, with maybe a total of 19 degrees of freedom, plus 5 or more from the base. Anybody has their kinematics fresh? In any case it comes handy for soldering.
