One of the Bay Area TV stations (CBS 5) ran a short segment about the Faire on their Sunday morning local news.

It didn’t actually appear to be taped at the Faire. They interviewed the water rocket dude and Dale Doroughty (?).

Rob Cockerham, who deserves a Maker profile article, was at the Faire on Sunday:

Hey – how about an East Coast-ish Faire? Atlanta, maybe? I’m in Tallahassee, but Atlanta is one of the closest cities I can think of that can do it; Jacksonville possibly could too. I’m sure you’d get votes for Orlando, but I don’t know about that one.

I’m going to see if we can “Demand” this on Eventful.

I got chance to ride Trevor Blackwell’s Electric Unicycle at Maker Faire. I don’t know who else ever has but it was a hell of a ride. It is completely counter-intuitive to those of us that already know how to ride a unicycle. Essentially you have to get one foot on the peg, lean what feels like waaaaaay forward and the gyroscope kicks in and the wheel starts rolling. Turning in wide arcs is easy, tights one require a foot on the ground. I didn’t get the chance to try going backwards as it was a fairly crowded area. Video here
