Eco-car more efficient than light bulb

Story.Ech2O An eco-car that can travel the world using a fraction of the electricity it takes to power a light bulb, has been unveiled by its British creators. According to the British gas firm BOC, its hydrogen-powered BOC Ech2o needs just 25 Watts — the equivalent of less than two gallons of petrol — to complete the 25,000-mile global trip, while emitting nothing more hazardous than water. Science ignorance from CNN. There’s no way to convert “25 Watts”, a measurement of power, to “gallons of petrol”, an ad-hoc measurement of energy. Energy = Power X Time. So if the article had said “25 Watts for 1 month” or some such, it would have made sense.

That’s exactly what I was just going to post about.

A human can fairly easily generate 25 watts continuously, so why not make it pedal-power? The only byproducts are obvious, and would be produced anyway, though are much less fun to deal with than a little CO2 or H2O.
