RSSGoogle Toolbar
I was just writing up an overview on the latest Google toolbar and why I like these types of user added edge-o-vations when I saw a post over on BoingBoing by Cory Doctorow which pretty much sums it all up. If you haven't seen what the beta Google Toolbar does, here are my screenshots of it in action. I think a lot of folks will add this to their arsenal to make the web more useful for them, on their own screens, along with a dozen or so add-ons many of us mix into our browsers.
When you run it for the first time you have to read all this.
Settings.
You can choose from these non-Google map services.
While I was on a site, I click the AutoLink button and it found an address I could map. When your mouse is over the new link, it has multi-colored Google balls to show that the link was added. You can click the AutoLink button again, and it removes them.
The map it pulled up.
A post on BoingBoing had a book, when I clicked the AutoLink button it found it, linked to Amazon. Ideally, having it link to froogle or a site of my choice to do a comparison shop would be good.

Do they sell the links? For example, does Google get a per-click commission from Amazon for each ISBN link? I would assume so. I'm sure much of the rest is a blatant self-promotion tool, where almost every link you click sends you to a Google-something page. And does it install any spyware or adware? I'm sorry, but I'm instantly suspicious of any free "toolbar" anymore.

Holy Scylla and Charybdis! Do I join the masses and use Micro$oft Internet Exploder and the fabulous new Googlebar, or do I surf outside the box on Firefox and wait for the new bar to make the transition? Decisions, decisions...
